Enable your Run, Task Manager, Regedit, CMD, Folder options and system restore with Re-enable

Most of the virus attack in anybody computer threatens your comp badly but the main area that it inhibits is Folder options, CMD and regedit. You might have heard of that eBrontok Virus that in its initial phase disabled folder options.

Its later version was more stable and started disabling Command Prompt and Run command. And the simplest solution that i was using was the system restore. Later on its worst part came even disabling System restore and all other possible remedial action that a common person can take when his PC is attacked with Virus. Well we had no other choice except using the costly antivirus programs which only assures prevention not the remedy. If your PC is not affected with Virus then these antivirus could be helpful, but if its already persisting then even Antivirus cant handle it. At that time I got some handy and small freewares which were hard to find and install. But now it seems very easy to tackel such type of problem with Re-enable.

How to use
Its simple to use and user friendly . All you need to do is put a check on the check box that you want to enable and click the Enable button. The disable feature will be instantly enabled or if not, a reboot would do the trick. Please make sure that the computer is free from virus or else the changes made by this tool will not be effective and there is no end to enabling/disabling competition between you and the virus.

Re-enable is coded in .NET but doesn’t need .NET installed because .NET dependencies are included in the program making it fully portable. That is why a single file is in 36.7MB. However if you working on a computer that already have .NET framework installed, then you can just use the 64KB version instead.

This NOKIA N86 is an enriched and accomplished smartphone built with expensive equipments. The only problems that worries me is its screen. Screen size is very less 2.6inch.

The feature which are most amazing is the 128mb RAM and 8MP camera. The most comic aspect is that one of my friend still using 128 mb RAM computer.

Microsoft Malware Protection centre has listed the top ten most deadliest virus threats for this month till MAY 19. This list includes different trojans, worms, password stealers and monitoring softwares.

Worms and miscellaneous trojans tops the list with three out of top 10 are passwords stealers. And the biggest thing that they claim is - 860,000 Computers Cleaned from Password Stealer Infections in One Week

Here is the full detail as per Microsoft Malware Protection Centre

1) Out of the top 10 threat families six moved higher in ranking compared to last month. Some of these six threat families like Alureon and Vundo have been around for more than two years while other like Koobface (refer to the recent MMPC Koobface blog) have only been seen in the ecosystem for several months. This indicates each threat has its own lifecycle and it appears that sometimes malware authors are willing to reinvest in their existing distributions instead of moving to somewhere else.

2) Three of the top 10 are password stealer threats. In fact there are five if you count those two worms, Taterf and Koobface, both of which have critical payload of stealing user data. Or consider six - Alureon trojan goes for users’ password and credit information as well. Adding them together there are 859,842 machines infected by password stealer threats when we are only talking about the top 10 threats. Note this is not a direct sum since some machines were infected by more than one of these threats.

3) Renos continues to be high on the list and is a major distribution channel for fake Antivirus programs.

4) Cutwail drops slightly but stays in the top 10. This is a spambot that we’ve discussed in different venues including in the recent Waledac blog.

Google Chrome dual view is the required plugin that will split your CHrome browser in two halves where you can browse two different websites simultaneously.

France has just passed a bill regarding illegal downloading of pirated copies from internet. They say download just three times these content and you will be banned.

The French National Assembly passed the bill by a vote of 296 to 223 and the measure will go before the Senate for final approval on Wednesday. This decision can penalize those who are using internet blindly for downloading pirated contents from the internet.

They say the person that will be caught will be banned from using internet for one year. A three-strikes system would be in place for violators, who first would receive an email warning, then a letter and finally lose their Internet access for up to a year if they are caught a third time.

Finally operating system of the year is out to download for public. Earlier previous month the official date for its public release was made which was 30th April for Technet and MSDN subscriber and 5th May for General Public.

From today morning the download link has been activated for people to download their own 32 or 64 bit version. Windows 7 RC is available for download in 32-bit as well as 64-bit from today till July 2009.

Earlier at beginning of this year google trends was showing an ascii image of 9/11. And earlier on JULY 2008 a swastik in google was showing up.

To do this go to Settings=>Labs=>Google Search, then enable it.

After saving the changes, Gmail will load again and Voila you got your google right in your Gmail account

Type your search in, and a window (like a chat window, but a bit bigger) appears at the bottom of your screen with the first few search results.

You can click on a search result and it'll open up in another window (or another tab) so you can make sure it's what you're looking for. Once you're sure it's a result you need, moving your mouse over the result back in Gmail reveals a pull-down menu that lets you do stuff with the search result.

Grab them all is a nice firefox addon that saves much of your time by taking screenshots of many websites simultaneously. With one click it takes screenshots of multiple websites. Its a perfectly nice tool when you want to capture screenshots of many URLs at a time.

First of all you have to install this firefox addon. Once installed Go to View->Toolbars->Customize... Find there GrabThemAll(GTA) button and drag it to to toolbar at any desired location of firefox.

When you will start this a window will open asking for the URLs just like picture as shown above(which can be saved in form of notepad text file at any location) and location where it will be saved. Once you click "Lets go" a window will open where the website will be loaded and it will save the screenshots at your given location in form of jpg or png file.

To configure Grab Them All select Tools->Extensions->GrabThemAll->Preferences. There can be selected:
- Output file format (jpg or png)
- Screenshot type: grab window only or grab entry page
- Window size (if screenshot type is set to "grab window only" it is output file size too).
- Maximum processing time (in seconds per page). 0 seconds means no limit.

This addon will save much of your time and will do the job in much easier. This is much better than your Printscreen button of your computer where you can take screenshots of the part which is visible to you and can't take lower part of the page.

How to create one collage of your images

If your organization is cluttered with multiple user profiles and they are no longer in use, then delprof deletes inactive local profiles from computers in your network.

You can download this utility here with a minimal size of only 306kb.

Install the User Profile Deletion Utility by running the downloaded delprof.msi file from the link provided above. No shortcuts are created. Instead you'll find the program installed in the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools. Three files reside there: delprof.exe (the program's executable file), tooldownloadreadme.htm (documentation on how to install and uninstall the software), and delprof.mht (documentation on how to run the program itself). You can launch the utility directly from its executable in Windows or from the command line. Double-clicking on the delprof.exe file opens a console window that asks if you want to delete all inactive profiles on the PC. Be aware that if you answer yes, the utility will remove all inactive profiles without requiring confirmation for each one. Obviously, that can have unforeseen consequences. Running the program from a command line and using specific options, in contrast, may be preferable as it gives you greater control. From the command line, you can also point the tool to any network PC, so there's no need for sneakernet to run it on your remote clients.

Launching the User Profile Deletion Utility from the command line lets you pass any of the following parameters:
/q—runs the tool in quiet mode so you're not prompted to confirm the deletion of each profile.
/i—does not inform you of any errors that occur.
/p—displays a message prompting you to confirm the deletion of each profile.
/r—removes only cached roaming profiles on the PC but leaves the local profiles alone.
/c:\\computer name—lets you launch the tool remotely by specifying the name of a network PC on which to run it.

/d:days—lets you specify the number of days after which the tool considers the profiles inactive and thereby deletes them.
You can view a list of all parameters by typing delprof /? at the command prompt, as shown above in figure. Whichever options you choose, I recommend always running the program with the /p parameter so that you'll be prompted for confirmation. Otherwise, the utility will attempt to delete all inactive profiles, including the admin account and any system accounts. For this reason, you should also exercise caution when deciding which accounts to remove and which to leave alone.

The tool will remove all directories and files associated with a specific profile, including desktop icons and settings, Internet Explorer Favorites, program-specific files stored in the Application Data directory, and the My Documents directory. Since the program is run from a console window, the deleted files are not stored in the Recycle Bin. Once removed, the files cannot be undeleted, except possibly by a third-party recovery utility.

Microsoft Office service Pack 2 coming on April 28th

Second service pack for the 2007 Microsoft Office System and the 2007 Microsoft Office servers is going to be release on April 28th. Today Microsoft officially announced the formal release date and the most important upcoming features in this package.

Changes that impact desktop applications

Service Pack 2 adds the ability to open, edit and save documents in version 1.1 of the OpenDocument Format for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. These applications now let users save, open, and edit files as OpenDocument Text (*.odt), OpenDocument Spreadsheet (*.ods), and OpenDocument Presentations (*.odp).

The 2007 Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 is the first service pack to support uninstall of client updates through the Microsoft Service Pack Uninstall Tool for the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite as well as via Windows Installer command line. The Service Pack Uninstall Tool will be available as a separate download.

Yesterday I was searching to post a nice good article on my blog. While doing so i decided to post information regarding some new shareware. I started searching many shareware websites.

After searching for half an hour i came across a cool application that claims that it search the copied item on clipboard directly on google. The application name is GoogleIt. What you have to do is to copy any item you want to search on google,then a GoogleIt widget will appear,click on it and you will get the desired result. So i copied a text from that website itself and pressed the googleit widget button that appears. See below.

Here is the search result that i got. You can see the search result it doesn't seemed like normal google search. Its customised google search that people generally put on their blog to search the blog contents and one more thing see the ads above. Well finally check the adsense publisher ID on top of the URL.

This indicates that some person has tweaked the software to generate google adsense earning and I caught it red handed. Well i think this is against google TOS. Once caught he will be banned from adsense forever.
